"Just by being here I'm already beginning to win"
Seve Ballesteros

Bryn

Founder Member and the man behind the well-oiled machine that is TML. It simply wouldn't happen without him (unless someone else did it).

After a few near misses he finally got the monkey off his back by winning in 2017 despite suffering from the yips. Even then it took him 4 extra holes. Hasn’t contended all that often since as he found it lonely at the top. Some good second rounds but often too little, too late.

Hasn’t contended all that often since as he found it lonely at the top.    Was again in the mix at Silloth on Solway in 2022. If he can get his flat-stick to behave then a second victory is sure to come at some point.

Richie

Another Founder Member even though he didn't actually turn up for the first two tournaments (he used to work you know). Always the last to pay his dues but usually the first to buy a round of drinks. Never won. Never been very close if truth be told. Never looked like he cared...until the final round in 2017 when he discovered course management. A very popular member both on and off the course. He can really play but doesn’t play often enough.

GDog

No longer in the self imposed shadows, we can now reveal the smiling face of the Keyser Söze of world golf.    He has been pursuing a particular dream since 2011 and who knows, one day it might come true. He has been in the final group a number of times so you just never know!   Off the course he loves nothing more than a pint and a bloody good sing-song.

Beast

They say practice makes perfect.  “Bollocks to that!” says the smooth talker from Tenby.  The 2018 Champion Golfer, winning at Harlech. Blows hot and cold on the links, and is perhaps too easily distracted by a fruity Koperberg.  Once beset by gastric issues but appears to have made a complete recovery. A genuine class act with a golf club in his giant mitts.

Rolfey

Debut winner in 2011 with one of the great shots in TML history on the 18th at Carnoustie.   Lost in playoff in 2015 against Gaz at Prestwick. Runner up in 2021 at Western Gailles. Surely only a matter of time before he lifts the crown again. Spends a lot of time in his personal golf lab, perfecting his swing. Can hit it a mile and should contend more.

Woodsy

A 5-iron like Thor's hammer and a thirst like George Best and Oliver Reed's love child.   A member who is always in the thick of the action. Has the heart of a lion and is quite open about how much he genuinely loves golf. Has more than enough game to mount a serious challenge every year.

Bazza

Beat Gaz in a thrilling final hole showdown at Turnberry in 2015.  He has genuine game and it’s high-time he added to his solitary title. At times he looks unstoppable. A real “Dapper Dan” too and usually wins the award for best-dressed.

Flex

Ex SAS and one of life’s great survivors. Almost sacked in his first week on the job for asking his female boss about her preferred sexual activity.  Yet to live up to his own pre-tournament hype but has featured strongly at times. If he can gun down his inner demons then a maiden victory won’t be far away.

Sumo

Full of middle eastern promise after a sojourn in Dubai. One or life’s genuine “Bon viveurs” who has a devil-may-care approach to pretty much everything. Capable of hitting high bombs off the tee coupled with a similar wedge game, this danger man is always worthy of serious consideration. Fourth place is his best result to date and it’s time he really got into the final day mix.

AJ

Making his debut in 2018.  Not short of confidence, the only member of TML arguing his handicap down not up.  The only thing that’s for sure is that win lose or draw he’ll celebrate like the love child of Pablo Escobar and Billi Holliday

Dearly Departed (former members)

Jarvo

One of the Fab Four who played at Royal Lytham & St Annes in 2009 when it all began. Jarvo also played at Royal Cinque Ports and Princes in 2010 but he then fell out of love with golf and retired from the society soon thereafter. Jarvo can really strike a ball but not always where he wants it to go.

Bads

Laid back doesn't even begin to describe this man. Bads joined TML in 2011 at Carnoustie and played in 2012 (Royal Portrush) and in 2013 (Royal Troon) before retiring. A man of few words (unless he has a menu in his hand), Bads is a fine golfer on his day but plays far too infrequently.
